The Chinese New Year began yesterday and the celebrations will last until the first full moon of the year. This 15 day celebration marks the year of the metal Tiger. The tiger signifies a fast moving year and generally marks a good year.
For those born in the year of the Tiger (1902, 1914, 1926, 1938, 1950, 1962, 1974, 1986, 1998 & 2010), it symbolizes that you are courageous, self-assured, passionate, optimistic, independent, rebellious, quick tempered but considerate. The Tiger is a natural leader and well liked because of their charming personalities.
Hmmm, I like this. I was not only born in the year of the Tiger, but I am a Leo. What does that say about me? Can you guess which year I was born? Hmmm, better not answer that one. 🙂
Well since the year is a fast paced one, I think I am off to a good start. I have so many plans for my blog in this New Lunar Year. I have a lot of exciting posts planned in the coming days and weeks. I have spent a lot of time reviewing what polish trends have been happening during Fashion Week and recreating those looks with polishes I already own. The goal is to do a series of posts on how to achieve the new looks while spending little to no money. Although admittedly, we all know I will probably purchase at least a few of the new polishes that will mark the Fall 2010 season. I have also had my daughter take photos of me giving myself a pedicure, as I was asked for a tutorial. Although I don’t know if I really want to be posting my feet on here. What do you think? I have also spent time swatching the Ulta polishes I recently acquired and writing up design ideas that I plan on doing on my nails. Phew! It was a lot of work this weekend, all this and regular weekend activities mixed in. Now I am off to take a walk on the beach and enjoy a much needed break. It is about 70 here today, and it looks like it will be the warmest day in the coming week, so I need to take advantage.
I’ll leave you here with today’s look inspired by the Chinese New Year and the Year of the Tiger.
I used Orly Glam Rock Matte then used a paint brushed dipped in black polish and topped with Nubar Diamont Fast Drying Top Coat to achieve this look.
I can’t believe I am already almost to 50 followers! How exciting! Once I get to 50 followers I will start my first give-away!
