Sally Hansen HD Polish – DVD

I saw the Sally Hansen HD Polish called DVD at Walgreen’s a few weeks ago and wasn’t sure if I should buy it. The color looked amazing, however, I have never had much luck with Sally Hansen. So I debated on getting this one. After seeing it every time I walked into a Walgreen’s I gave in and grabbed it. I have to say that it was as impressive on as it was in the bottle – however it was SHEER and took 3 coats to get it to look decent. However after looking at these photos, I probably should have added a 4th coat. A bit disappointing. I thought it would be interesting to show the progress of the three coats I did for this manicure.

Here is the first coat

You can see that it is very sheer with just one coat. The polish is also inconsistent and a bit streaky.

Here is the second coat
The streakiness corrected itself a bit on the second coat, but it was still pretty sheer depending on the way the light hits it. But can you see the amazing sparkle already?

This is the third coat

Unfortunately I wasn’t able to capture a good close up of this polish. But you can see that it is mainly a purple polish that shimmers blue. It is an amazing color and much more vivid in person. I will say that this will probably wear pretty well too. I wore it for one day and it was a pain to remove. I used pure acetone and it was still wanting to stay put.

Overall I love the color, and it seems like it will wear pretty well. But I was so surprised at how sheer it was. I was not expecting that at all based on how it looked in the bottle. But it is so amazing once you have enough coats, so for me the end result was worth it.

And in case any of you were interested in our trip to Gatorland this weekend, here is a cheesy video I put together of our trip.
